Die-namite Garden Card!

March is going to be a fantastic month! CTMH has a sale on their thin cut dies - and I am in love with die cuts! 25% off of thin cuts and 30% off of certain thin cut bundles for the month of March or while supplies last! It's easy to whip something out and I love how great the CTMH die cuts are - they work with embossing machines, like the cuttlebug or big shot, and it's so easy to use scraps to create something beautiful.

This intermediate/advanced card really shows off a couple of different types of cutting out shapes - the stamp and thin cut set for the card are on sale for a very affordable $19.46, and they are really adorable - you can get them here while supplies last Z4164 Mother's Garden Stamp + Thin Cuts Set.

So this card is called a "side-step" card - it's split in half and it's really fun to put together. I recently participated in a swap and sent a variation on the card. The stamp set is last month's stamp of the month, and since it's March, there's a new set, but any sentiment will work great on the center of the flower. The stamp set comes with a "Happy Mother's Day sentiment" which I used for the swap, and I think it makes a lovely card for the mother-figure in your life.

The base is made out of the two-toned Almond cardstock, and as an added bonus, I've got a link to the Cricut Design Space file at the bottom of the blog post. To cut the card out, you will need the optional scoring stylus, but when it is finished cutting the card out, it's so easy to fold and assemble the card. Since my craft area is off the beaten track in our house, I like to cut out a bunch of thin cuts all at the same time, then I will set up a template and stamp them, and pop them in a baggie with a couple colored pencils and color them while we watch tv or while I'm waiting for an appointment.

Here's the recipe to make the card, make sure to click on the link at the bottom of the blog post to save the Cricut Design Space file to your own file cabinet.

Ask me how! This card is not for the faint of heart - it's a little more advanced, but it is a stunning card that has a built in display function! If you are in the greater New Orleans area, I am having a workshop in late March where one of the projects is putting this card together - so you don't need to cut anything out - all the parts, pieces and inks will be provided. If you want to attend, please email or contact me for more information - I'd love to see you there!
