You're so tweet Card

Sometimes I see a stamp set and I know it will be the most adorable set ever, and I need the set in my life - that happened with this adoooooooorable so tweet stamp set from Close to my heart.

This set is new, it premiered in the May/June catalog and it comes with (or without) a thin cut die set to cut out the cute lil birds & butterflies.

This card has a bit of a patriotic feel to it, and it does a couple of unusual things that I typically don't do, so it's fun to stretch those creative muscles and try something different!

First, I always cut out the thin cut shapes first, then stamp and color. I used Intense Black Ink so that the ink would stand up to the alcohol ink markering and various coloring. I colored in the glasses bird with citrus yellow, first going over the body with the light color, then adding shadows with the medium and dark colors. I filled in his beak with orange and then traced his legs with orange so that there would be a hint of orange there. For my Bluebird, I used Ice Blue and did a similar coloring - first filling in the light color then adding in the shadows around the edges. I used citrus yellow for his beak and I colored his hat using the light brown-grey and then used medium on the bottom of the hat where a shadow would be. For the butterfly, I colored that in with ice blue and added dots around the wings using the dark color just for a visual interest.

The coloring is the hard part - after it's done, use your paper trimmer, cut a side off of the largest circle, making sure there is enough room left for the glasses birdie. Adhere to the bottom of the Stars & Sparklers paper and cut off the excess so that it lines up with the edge. Attach the 2" circle and on the small 1" circle cut off one side, line up with the edge of the paper and trim off the rest of the circle, ma

king sure there's still enough room for the butterfly.

Ink up the sentiment stamp with sapphire ink and stamp the sentiment directly on the pattern paper - I haven't stamped directly on the paper in such a long time, I use so many sentiment strips - but this way it feels like the sentiment is part of the image. Attach the 3-3/4" x 5" piece to the Sapphire cardstock to create a frame, and adhere that onto the white card base.

Attach the two birdies & the butterfly using foam dots or 3-D foam tape.

Embellish as desired - here's a list of the products used, please do reach out and let me know if you have any questions! Thanks & stay crafty!
